Pastor Eric M. Beckham

Rev. Eric Beckham was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1967 and raised in Columbia, Maryland. In 1989, he graduated from Florida A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He then matriculated through Princeton Theological Seminary, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1992. While in seminary, Rev. Beckham began preaching the gospel, in 1989, as a volunteer chaplain at Trenton State Prison.

In 2012, Rev. Beckham furthered his education, graduating from Kean University in Union, NJ, completing the Marriage and Family Therapy program. As a certified Marriage and Family Therapist for the State of New Jersey, Rev. Beckham specialized in working with couples and at-risk adolescents.

From 1993 until June of 2016, Rev. Beckham served dutifully for 22 years as the Senior Pastor of the Clear View Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. During his tenure as pastor at Clear View, the church grew numerically and spiritually. Relocating in 1994 to its newly constructed worship edifice, the church successfully paid off its mortgage in nine years. Active in community development, Rev. Beckham led the church in numerous outreach initiatives and ministries. While in New Jersey, he served on several boards and worked within various local entities to enhance the community in the arenas of economics, mental health, education, health care, and urban renewal.

In June of 2016, by God's divine providence and the leading of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Beckham was called to relocate and serve as the Senior Pastor of the historic Zion Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia. It is with much excitement, humility, gratitude, and prayer that Rev. Beckham has begun a new venture to serve and to lead the Zion Church Family and the community of Cobb County.

Rev. Beckham believes very strongly in the church's local outreach to its community, as well as to mission projects throughout the world. His strongest passions are a lifestyle of fervent prayer, the preaching and teaching of the Word of God, and the making of disciples of men, women, and youth.

His greatest pride and joy is his family, consisting of his lovely wife of 26 years, Maritza and their four children: Darius, Demetrius, Maya, and Morgan.

On Lady Beckham's very first Women's Day at Zion, she was officially welcomed and humbled to take on the role of Zion's Women's Ministry Chairperson. She is excited to be able to continue her ministry with the women of Zion as well as to the women in the surrounding communities of Cobb County and the City of Marietta. First Lady Beckham is equally excited to be facilitating an all-female small group primarily consisting of new to Zion female members of all ages and stages in their spiritual walk with Christ.

Lady Beckham is also blessed to be a gifted singer.  Since the age of 4 years old and through her young adult and adult years she has had the pleasure of working and singing with gospel greats such as Rev.

Under God's direction, First Lady Beckham recently began pursuing her certificate in Christian Ministry with New York Theological Seminary and considers it to be a priceless experience to minister the Word of God to those who will have an ear to hear what thus saith the Lord!!! Her favorite verses of scripture is Ephesians 3:20-21 (ESV) which declares: "Now unto him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen"
